College Park has plenty of places to eat, but if you're craving a proper dosa, a plate of idli with sambar, or a thali that tastes like home, the options right around campus get thin fast. The good news: it's a short drive down University Blvd.

Where to go

Ananda Kitchen is inside BITES Food Court + Bar in the Langley Park Shopping Center, at 8046 New Hampshire Ave, near the corner of New Hampshire Ave and University Blvd. From campus, head west on University Blvd. Parking is free.

What to order on a student budget

  • Idli (3 pieces) with sambar and chutney: light, filling and easy on the wallet.
  • Masala Dosa: a big, crispy dosa with sambar and two chutneys. It's a full meal.
  • Vada Pav or Samosa Pav: Mumbai street food, perfect for a quick bite between classes.
  • Chole Bhature: spicy chickpea curry with fluffy fried bread, for when you're really hungry.
  • Punjabi Thali: curries, rice, roti and sides on one plate. The closest thing to a home-cooked meal.

Vegetarian, vegan and Swaminarayan-friendly

Everything at Ananda Kitchen is vegetarian and cooked in a separate, dedicated vegetarian kitchen. There are vegan options every day; just tell the counter. We also keep a full Swaminarayan-friendly menu.

Bring the whole group

Because we're inside a food hall, your friends don't all have to want the same thing. Someone can get a cheesesteak at Charleys, someone else a bubble tea from SmoothieFRESH, and everyone eats together. If you're 21+, the BITES Bar is right there too.

Planning a club or org event?

We make catering trays of idli, mini samosas, pakoras, chaat, rice and parathas. Great for Diwali nights, cultural association events and study sessions.

Order ahead at anandakitchen.com and your food will be ready in about 30 minutes.
